I am not a silent poet

I will take my metaphor
of tissue and grand lies,
wrap it in a worm’s
silk knot, and place it
in a cedar box …

along with all
the other metaphors.

I will write only truths
undressed, skinned,
with scars and lines…

green, and pleasant,
I no longer recognise.
